Clean Up For RAGBRAI

July 8, 2014
Emmetsburg News

Emmetsburg is an overnight host for 20,000 bicycle riders and their entourage when RAGBRAI XLII travels across the state of Iowa. Residents are encouraged to clean up their yards before our guests arrive.

Every day is a good time to clean up yards and parks, pathways and byways. We really want to put on our best face for this many guests who will be traveling through our entire community.

When you are out for a walk, take a trash bag and pick up litter. Just a little helps a lot. Clean up Emmetsburg!

PLAYGROUND FACELIFT - Before RAGBRAI arrives in Emmetsburg July 21, the playground equipment at Soper Park needed a face lift. Members of the Emmetsburg Rotary Club purchased the paint and took on the job.
Dave Rouse (left) and Pete Hamilton, Rotary members, are pictured painting the swing set. Additional members who helped with the painting project include Audrey Baatz, Tim McCain, Kathy Merrill and Tammy Shimon.
Soper Park will be the main venue for RAGBRAI where the stage will be set up, and vendors and a beverage garden will be located. Volunteers are needed to help host RAGBRAI. Contact Jodi Ward at 319-804-9145.
