June 26, 2014
by Jane Whitmore , Emmetsburg News

Emmetsburg kids of all ages!?Join the group next Tuesday to decorate trash boxes to be used during RAGBRAI's overnight stay in Emmetsburg.

Wear old paint clothes and bring ideas for decorating trash collection boxes. Paint and boxes will be provided.

Kids will gather in Soper Park at the Open Shelter House at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Decorate as many boxes as possible until 3 p.m.

"This is an opportunity for kids in the community to become involved in volunteering for RAGBRAI," said Jodi Ward, Volunteer Committee Chair. "In addition to having fun painting, we will have cotton candy and other activities for kids to enjoy."

Jodi Ward and volunteer committee member Jacque Carlson, along with RAGBRAI co-chair Meg Noonan will be in Soper Park to assist with the painting project.

"We have a lot of boxes to decorate, so we want to see lots of kids stop by for a good time next Tuesday afternoon," said Jodi.
