RUTHVEN -- The Palo Alto County Conservation Board is hosting its annual Saturday in the Park, June 21, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lost Island Nature Center north of Ruthven.
Highlights this year include live music by Chad Elliott. Many local people are fans of Chad and have followed his career.
Guest speaker is Dick Bennett from Marathon. Dick will have a teepee on display and present programs on Native American history, with tomahawk and blowgun demonstrations.
Local vendors will be displaying their merchandise. Lunch will be available. Try canoeing, kayaking or the latest fad- stand up paddle board, at the beach. Kite flying, Dutch oven cooking, habitat mural, bird bingo, and wood tool demonstrations will be on the Nature Center front lawn. Sac County Naturalist, Renee Stroud, will be on hand with a live Kestrel and Kay Neumann will be back again this year to release a live bird.
This event is open to the public free of charge. Come enjoy the festivities.
