The Palo Alto Gun Club will host the Iowa Games Satellite Trap Shoot at Sportsman's Park this Saturday June 14. Practice begins at 9:30 a.m. with competition starting at 10:30 a.m..
The competition is open to all trap shooters, from fifth grade to senior veterans. Divisions are based on grade or age of individuals, and divided into male and female classes. School aged-youth may compete as teams and as individuals. Competitors can choose to compete in any or all of the events.
Participants may register online or the day of the shoot. Athletes that competed in the SCTP High School trap shoot May 3 will only have to pay the event target fee.
Competition will consist of 50 targets from each position. Equipment: shotgun, maximum 12 ga., 3 dram, 7 1/2 shot, 1 1/8 oz. target loads. A Target fee per event will be collected at the range.
The top three in each division will qualify for the Iowa Games Finals July 19 at Ankeny.
Hearing and eye protection are required. Grade Divisions are based on the 2013-2014 year. Concessions will be available at the range.
