Jayme E. Lentz of Lentz Funeral Home in Algona was among officers of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association participating in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tom of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, this spring.
IFDA President Michael Jones of Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, IFDA President Jayme Lentz, IFDA?Secretary-Treasurer Marty Rieken of Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland, and IFDA?Representative to the NFDA?Policy Board Lynn Ochiltree of Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset participated in the service.
During their visit to Washington, D.C., the Iowa group of funeral directors had lunch at the Capitol Hill Club with Iowa Congressman Steve King. The group also participated in meetings with Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), Congressman Bruce Braley ((D-IA) Congressman Tom Latham (R-IA) and Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-IA). During these meetings, the funeral director discussed issues important to funeral service as well as those important for small business owners in Iowa.
