Funeral service for Vicky Lee Lomax of West Bend was held Wednesday, May 7, at the United Methodist Church in Traer. The Rev. Kim Gates officiated.
Interment was in Buckingham Cemetery, Traer. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg was in charge of arrangements.
Victoria Lee Lomax, daughter of James Ray and Ramona E. (Hogan) Harrison, was born April 19, 1946 in Waterloo, growing up in Traer. She graduated from North Tama High School in 1964. Following graduation, Vicky attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo where she was trained as an Office Assistant. After graduating she began working at Hawkeye Tech.
Vicky later moved to Douglas, GA where she lived before returning to Iowa in 1996. While living in Palo Alto County Vicky was employed as a home health aid with the Palo Alto County Health System. She later volunteered countless years at Upper Des Moines Outreach in Emmetsburg. For the past few years, Vicky has devoted her life to her great granddaughter, Sophie Lomax.
Vicky passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Buena Vista County Hospital at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and two nephews.
She is survived by her children, Barney (Lisa) Lomax of Curlew, Steven (Yolunda) Harrison of Brunswick, GA, Christy Lomax of Emmetsburg, Jonathan (Melissa) Lomax of Douglas, GA and Ricky (Tracey) Lomax of Douglas, GA; 14 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and expecting three more; two brothers; a sister; numerous nieces and nephews.
