Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawk track and field squad took part in Friday's ELC?Relays at Estherville and despite missing several personnel to a school trip, came away with several solid performances on the day. Emmetsburg would score 82 points in the Varsity B Division competition, and in the Junior Varsity division, Emmetsburg tallied 41 points.
Emmetsburg would get a first place finish on Friday from freshman Kayla Joyce, as she captured the discus title with a throw of 105'3.5", while her teammate, senior Tegan Olson, finished second in the discus with a throw of 105'2".
In the shot put, Natalie Ruiz earned second place with a throw of 31'9.5", while Tegan Olson finished third with a throw of 31'2.5" .
Also earning a second place finish on Friday was Hadley Egland with her time of :17.40 in the 100 meter hurdles. Senior Rachel Ruddy took the runner-up honors in the long jump with her leap of 4'5.5". Teammate Sarah Simington would finish seventh in the long jump with a jump of 12'7".
Mikki Mundus would earn third place honors in the 200 meter dash, as she finished third overall witha time of :27.75. Teammate Shelby Loomis placed eighth with a time of :30.34 in the 200 meters.
Hadley Egland would turn in a time of :13.88 to place fifth in the 100 meter dash, while Jordan Lange finished ninth in the 100 with her time of :14.26. Cieirra McAllister would earn a seventh place finish in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:21.36.
The varsity relay groups were paced by the 4x800 relay, which earned second place honors with its time of 11:55.18. The 4x200 relay would place third with a time of 1:56.33, and the Sprint Medley Relay also earned third place honors with a time of 2:03.90.
Rounding out the varsity efforts on Friday was the 4x400 relay that finished fifth with a 5:21.00 clocking.
The Lady E-Hawk Junior Varsity also competed and got a winning effort from the 4x100 relay, as the foursome finished first with a time of :57.20. The JV 4x200 relay would finish second, as they turned in a time of 2:04.53.
Olivia Hampe would take second place honors in the junior varsity discus with a throw of 75'7".
Jenna Chapman would finish third in the 100 meter dash with a time of :14.95 and then took third place in the 200 meter dash with a time of :32.32.
Billie Steffes would place fifth in the 800 meter run with a time of 3:25.30 and Morgan Fischer earned sixth place in the shot put, coming away with a throw of 22'10.5".
After having Monday's Okoboji Relays cancelled due to weather, the Lady E-Hawks are scheduled to return to the track Friday, May 2, at Spencer High School. Action is slated to get underway at 4:30 p.m.
