E-Hawk Thinclads Second At North Union

ARMSTRONG - The Emmetsburg E-Hawks earned a second place finish in the team race at Monday's Jim Godfredson-Tom Elliott Relays at North Union. Emmetsburg finished with 89 points behind Estherville Lincoln Central with 135 points.

Continuing his winning ways, Allen Jensen took three victories, winning the 100 meter dash in :11.65 and the 200 meter dash in :23.23, as well as capturing the 110 high hurdles with a :15;83 clocking.

The E-Hawk Shuttle Hurdle Relay also won again, finishing with a 1:02.88.

Alex DeFord finished seventh in the 100 meters with a :12.30 time and Aaron Bird was ninth in the 200 meters with a :25.66 effort, while Brandon Elbert placed fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of :17.39.

Shay Mortenson finished seventh in the 400 meter dash with a :55.87 time and Max Hadabank was 12th with a 1:01.24 clocking. In the 800 meter run, Daniel VanOosbree finished 11th with a time of 2:26.10.

Nick Grandstaff finished fifth in the 1600 meters in 5:19.79 and then took fourth in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:17.66/.

Zach Anderson earned third place honors in the 400 meter hurdles with a 1:04.17 time and Dalton Connelly was fifth with his 1:08.02 clocking.

The E-Hawks' 4x100 relay took second with a ;47.32 time and the 4x200 was fifth with a time of 1:41.12. The 4x400 relay earned sixth place with a 4:04.36 time and the 4x800 finished fourth with a time of 9:57.52 and the Distance Medley relay placed third with a 4:05.71.

In the field events, Nick Chapman placed fourth in the discus, throwing 106'11" and Nick Jackson finished 13th with a throw of 70'5". Wes Schultes would place fourth in the long jump, coming away with a leap of 17'4.5", while Max Hadabank was ninth with his jump of 16'3". Nick Jackson would throw the shot put 37'2.5" to earn fifth place honors and Pat Brennan threw 33'11.75"?to finish the shot in ninth place.

The E-Hawks will run again on Friday when they journey to Pocahontas for the Indian Relays, starting at 5 p.m.
