GRAETTINGER - The Titan girls golf squad of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire claimed Monday's Cornbelt Conference girls meet win. The league match was played at the Hillcrest Golf Course in Graettinger.
The Titans would win with a team score of 210, while the Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gil-more City-Bragate finished second, 10-strokes back with a 220. Harris-Lake Park finished third with a 238 stroke score, while North Union placed fourth with a 239 and Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne golfed with just three golfers and shot a 315.
Macy Gunderon of HarrisLake Park was medalist with a 48, while Jennalyn Thul of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate was the runner-up medalist with a 49.
For Graettinger-Terril/ Ruthven-Ayrshire,Kelley Harris would lead the effort with her round of 50. Sara Harris followed with a round of 52, while Caroline Koekenhoff and Lauren Flaharty both carded rounds of 54. Carrie Hoffman would add a round of 57 and Emma Feldhacker shot a round of 65 to round out the Titans' scoring.
"With some windy conditions, the girls did a great job staying out of some trouble," noted Titan Coach John Fulton. "Kelley Harris once again paced our team and we continue to get some great scores from our other golfers. It is great to win on our home course and we want to continue to get better as the season progresses."
For West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Brad-gate, the Lady Wolverines were led by the 49-stroke score of Jennalyn Thul. Emily Bormann shot a round of 54, while Cassie Gearhart shot a 58. Lauren Link followed with a round of 59, wihle Heather Brown and Megan Garrad both shot rounds of 66 to cap off the scoring.
