The Palo Alto County Conservation Board has announced that they have hired Mary Barrick, from Ruthven, as the new Director.
Mary previously held the Administrative Assistant position working with the budget and has been a key player in the growth of the Conservation Board programs. She has been very successful in grant writing, working with land acquisitions and trail projects. Mary has also been an integral part in public programming and assisting with educational programs.
"I am very happy that Mary has accepted this position," says Gary Hughes, Board Chairman. "She has had 14 years of experience working very closely with the past two Directors. She has good ideas for enhancement of our properties and possibly the addition of new programs. I'm sure she will do an excellent job for the County Conservation Board."
As the new Director, Mary stated, "I would like to thank the board for their confidence in me and giving me this opportunity to serve the citizens of Palo Alto County. I look forward to providing leadership and continuing to improve the services the County Conservation Board has to offer."
