WEST?BEND - The Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate got their track and field season underway Monday at Lake City where they would finish ninth overall at the Southern Cal Invitational.
The Wolverines would get a fourth place finish on Monday from Travis Fehr in the 200 meter dash, as he finished with a time of :24.4.
The Wolverines' 4x800 relay earned a fifth place finish, as the foursome of Jeff Riesenberg, Nolan Grimm, Jason Zinnel and Jesse Zinnel turned in a time of 9:19 for the placing.
In the 100 meter dash, Travis Fehr would finish sixth with an :11.8 clocking, while the Wolverine 4x200 relay, comprised of Travis Fehr, Nolan Dahlhauser, Jeff Riesenberg and Jesse Zinnel, turned in a time of 1:42.4 to also place sixth.
Rounding out the finishes for West Bend-Mallard /Gilmore City-Bradgate was the Medley Relay, with Travis Fehr, Nolan Dahlhauser, Jeff Riesenberg and Jesse Zinnel, as the quartet was clocked in at 4:08 to finish sixth overall.
"This is traditionally a very tough meet for us,"?noted Wolverine Head Coach Jerry Vanderhorst. "Travis Fehr ran well in his races and Jeff Riesenberg ran well for a freshman. We will continue to work to improve our times."
The Wolverines will compete this Friday in Spencer when they participate in the Maverick Relays, hosted by Clay Central-Everly.
