The final plat for Rockport's Third Addition was approved by Emmetsburg City Council at their meeting Monday, March 24. In a related item, the council set April 14 at 6 p.m. for a public hearing to vacate a platted street known as Parkview Drive from Rockort's First Addition.
The 2005 Crown Victoria, a former police vehicle, brought five bids, ranging from $201 to $752.66. Tim Sidles from Quality Tire and Service in Emmetsburg, and Brian Morey attended the meeting and raised their bids. The vehicle was sold to Quality Tire for $1100.
A contract was awarded to Blacktop Service of Humboldt for 2014-15 general street improvements.
In other business, the councilapproved Mayor Heddinger's appointments: Frank Kliegl re-appointed as Fire Chief; Judd Duhn, re-appointed as Assistant Fie Chief; John Haywood appointed to the Park Board; Marc Riley re-appointed to the Golf Board.
The council approved the Golf Board's recommendation to appoint Mathew Hoskins as Clubhouse Manager.
