At midnight on Feb. 24, Mark Laddusaw of Whittemore, became the new Palo Alto County Magistrate. Previously Laddasaw served as Magistrate in Kossuth County. His appointment occurred when duties were realignment following the retirement of District Associate Judge Donald J. Bormann.
A graduate of Creighton Law School, Laddusaw has been practicing law since 1992. He began serving as Magistrate in Kossuth County in 2000. Laddusaw is no stranger to Palo Alto County. For the last 13 years, he has been part of the weekend rotation of Magistrates that serve the county. He also filled in while Judge Bormann was on leave.
The Spencer native said he believes the transition curve will be smooth. "I already have a working relationship with the county personnel," Laddusaw commented.
In addition to his Magistrate responsibililites, he practices law in Algona. He is married and the father of eight children.
Laddasaw received the Iowa Judicial Branch 2010 Meritorious Award for Part-Time Judicial Officers.
