Linda Haack Worley, 61, of Minburn passed into eternal rest Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. For Linda, rest was relative. A close friend said it best, "There is a new event coordinator sitting at the right hand of God today."
Born in Emmetsburg April 8, 1952, to parents Bernard and Lavonne Haack, Linda was one of 10 siblings. From the beginning, Linda's life had a foundation of fun. Growing up on the family farm near Cylinder, hard work was always balanced by games, dancing, and singing.
Linda's love of music was later passed down to her own family. Such was the scene even in the final hours of her life.
Linda graduated from Emmetsburg High School. She and H.B. Worley were married June 20, 1970. Linda began a career with Team National after her children were grown.
Linda loved her gardens, traveling, and sunsets, but most of all she loved others. She lived joyfully in all seasons. She left nothing unsaid. She wanted to know, to share, to listen, to dissect, to explore, to help, to guide, to bless, and to encourage at every opportunity. This is a rare blessing. She was a rare person. We thank God we were chosen to experience her.
Survivors include her husband, H.B. Worley; four children, Scott (Tami) Worley of Des Moines, Nicole (Ron) Short of Waukee, Chris (Sally) Worley of Grimes, and Kari (Justin)?Lantz of Urbandale; and seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are her mother, Lavonne Haack of Dallas Center; eight siblings, Sandy (Dan)?Naig of Graettinger, Mike (Terri)?Haack of Coats, KS, Greg (Norma)?Haack of Spencer, Dave (LuAnn)?Haack of Cylinder, Cheryl (Ivan)?Abernathy of Brooksville, FL, Marsha (Dennis Kramer of Alden, Julie (Jan)?Reimann of Leland and Laurie Brewington of Cedar Rapids; and her aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her infant brother, John Eugene; and her father, Bernard Haack.
Funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 31, at Point of Grace Church in Waukee. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Minburn.
