The West Bend-Mallard/ Gilmore City-Bradgate Wolverines collected a pair of wins to improve their season mark to 10-7 with wins over Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne and Northeast Hamilton over the weekend.
Friday night the Wolverines downed CWL by a 73-40 tally. WBM/GCB?took an early 24-9 lead and never looked back with a 49-21 advantage at the half. In the second half, the Wolverines kept up the offensive and defensive pressure, moving out to a 64-27 lead and coasted to the 73-40 margin of victory.
Jason Zinnel led the way with 17 points, while Jesse Zinnel added 16 points. Jordan Buhs tallied 13 markers and Brady Jensen scored 12 points. Nolan (Whitty) Dahlhauser scored five points, with Taylor Bennett adding four points. Tyler McKimmey chipped in three points, while Cole Banwart scored two and Jack Banwart added one point.
Saturday the Wolverines took a 70-42 win over Northeast Hamilton. A 26-12 lead would never be surrendered by the purple and yellow, as they extended the lead to 462-4-22 at halftime. In the third quarter, The Wolverines kept up the pressure to post a 62-30 lead and the reserves finished out the game for th e70-42 final margin of victory.
Jason Zinnel had a big night offensively with 29 points to his credit, while Jesse Zinnel added 19 markers. Cole Banwart followed up with 10 points, while Brady Jensen tossed in seven points. Tyler McKimmey and Jack Banwart both scored a bucket for two points each and Max Lehner added a free throw to round out the scoring.
