The Titans of Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire remained perfect in Cornbelt Conference boys action with a 72-60 win over North Union Friday night. The win improved the Titans to 11-1 on the season.
In a fast-paced game, the Titans took an 18-14 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 37-22 advantage at the intermission. In the third quarter, North Union would actually outscore the Titans, 16-15 to cut the deficit to 14 points, but GT/RA would hold a 52-38 lead going into the final quarter, and despite 22 points from the Warriors to their 20, rode their cushion to the 72-60 victory.
Graettinger-Terril/Ruth-ven-Ayrshire would be led by the 25 points of Connor Sturgill, who added nine rebounds. Andy Geelan followed with 14 points and dished out 11 assists with eight rebounds. Taylor Enderson scored 11 points, while Mason McGrauth chipped in nine points. Noah Stukey would score seven points for the Titans while Nick Josephson came off the bench to tally three points and Lane Reiman added three points to the effort.
"We played a very good first half and North Union came back and shot the ball really well in the fourth quarter,"?noted Titan Head Coach Randy Hough. "I thought our boys played very disciplined basketball in the last three minutes of the game."
