Stepping out of conference play on Thursday night,Emmetsburg's Lady E-Hawks battled the Okoboji Pioneers to a 36-all tie at the end of regulation but came up short in a 52-45 setback to Okoboji.
The game was very evenly played throughout, with Okoboji taking an 8-6 lead at the end of the first quarter of play and holding a bucket advantage at half-time with a 19-17 lead over Emmetsburg.
The Lady E-Hawks would get one point back in the third quarter, cutting the lead to a 28-27 mark to start the final period of regulation. The score would tie and end up at 36-36 when time expired, but in the extra four minute period, Okoboji found their shooting and jumped out to take the 52-45 win over Emmetsburg.
Ashton Connelly would lead Emmetsburg's efforts offensively with 19 points, while Alexa Naig added 12 points. Bailey Naig would score six points, while Hadley Egland chipping in four points. Tegan Olson and Michaela Rehm rounded out the scoring with two points each for the Lady E-Hawks.
