Marie Carrie (Gerber)?Gress

Marie Gress, 94, of West Bend, formerly of Ottosen, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the West Bend Care Center in West Bend.

Services were held Monday, May 13, at the Apostolic Christian Church in West Bend, with burial in the church cemetery. Harris Funeral Home of West Bend was in charge of arrangements.

Marie, the daughter of Manuel and Minnie (Fehr)?Gerber Bruellman, was born Feb. 23, 1919, in West Bend. She completed her education through the tenth grade and then worked in general housekeeping duties until her marriage to Fahey A. Gress on Dec. 11, 1941.

Fahey and Marie moved to a farm by Ottosen in 1942 and farmed there for 32 years. They retired from farming in 1974 and moved to West Bend.

Marie was baptized in 1952 and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She had resided at the West Bend Care Center the last several years and will always be remembered for the love and concern she had for her family and friends.

Survivors include her five children: Ray (Sandy) of Wills Point, TX, Rodney (Sally) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Cloyce (Carol) of Northville, MI, Robert (Sue) of Emmetsburg, and Connie (Joe) Gerst of Amana; 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; and one sister, Madeline Banwart of West Bend.

Her husband, Fahey, her parents, and two brothers preceded Marie in death.

Memorials will be given to the West Bend Care Center for landscaping and courtyard improvements.
