GRAETTINGER If Cabin Fever is starting to gnaw at you, there is a great opportunity at hand to get out and see some of the newest trends in education. The Graettinger?Terril Community School District is excited to announce February Fest, a celebration for Graettinger-Terril students, staff, parents and patrons.
The event is set for Monday, Feb. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the district's Middle School/High School facility in Graettinger. This collaborative effort involving various community organizations will highlight and showcase many of the exciting accomplishments that take place in the local district.
"We invite everyone to take a deeper look into a school day in the life of our students," noted GT High School Principal Teresa Alesch. "Education is evolving and children today experience a much different approach than we once did."
According to Alesch, the February Fest event is themed around a journey through the Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 program at Graetting-Terril. Students in grades 6-12 will serve as tour guides, guiding visitors through a journey with several entertaining and informative stops. There will be speeches, musical entertainment, displays of achievement and even displays of "What we do at GT."
Elementary students will also be part of the February Fest, providing classroom demonstrations, program displays and class performances.
It wouldn't be a festival without some extra fun, and there will be plenty opportunities for one an all to enjoy a free-will offering meal, mini-carnival and informational booths.
"We hope to highlight what's going well in our district and give people an up-close opportunity to interact with student ambassadors and staff members," Alesch added. We're very excited about February Fest and hope to see you there to help celebrate our youth and education."
