Cagers Split At Manson NW Webster

MANSON - In the final game of the regular season, Emmetsburg's boys and girls would split in action against Manson Northwest Webster on Thursday night.

The Lady E-Hawks would fall to Manson by a 62-40 tally, while the E-Hawks wound up on the positive side of a 60-53 tally over the Cougars.

In the girls game, Emmetsburg would fall in a hole early, trailing 23-3 at the end of the first quarter, and trailing 22-37 at the intermission. In the third quarter, ?Emmetsburg tried to fight off the Cougars' onslaught, but trailed 31-53 at the end of three quarters. IN the final quarter, Manson Northwest Webster would go on to score the 62-40 final margin of victory.

For Emmetsburg, Ashton Connelly would score 15 points in the effort while Alexa Naig added 13 points. Hadley Egland came away with seven points, while Michaela Rehm added four points and Whitney Kibbie scored three points.

The boys game would be a back and forth battle as the two teams traded buckets through the contest, with Emmetsburg taking a 14-12 advantage at the end of the first quarter. In the second frame, Manson Northwest Webster tried to come back but Emmetsburg would hold on to record a 29-26 lead at the intermission.

In the second half, the two teams continued to battle, as Emmetsburg was able to cling to a 45-38 lead at the end of the third frame. In the final quarter, the E-Hawks were able to hold a lead through the quarter to claim the 60-53 victory.

Jake Jackson would lead all scorers with 36 points in the contest, while Erik Drost added 12 points. Michael Pugh scored six points, with Mick Myers adding four points and Austin Krause scoring two points.
