RUTHVEN -- A Mass of Christian Burial for William F. Joynt was held Saturday, Feb. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ruthven. The Rev. Clem Currans was Celebrant.
Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven was in charge of arrangements.
William Francis Joynt, son of Earl and Rosella (Bisenius) Joynt, was born Dec. 31, 1950 in Emmetsburg. He attended Emmetsburg Catholic School, and after the completion of his Junior year the Catholic school closed. Bill completed his education at Emmetsburg High School, graduating in 1969.
Following high school Bill was drafted into the United States Army. After serving in Germany Bill was transferred to the Army Reserves where he served until April 1976. Following Bill's return from Germany, he started working construction.
On Aug. 10, 1973 Bill was united in marriage to Cinda Higgins at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ayrshire. Bill and Cinda were blessed with three children, Jarrod, Rachel and Jeremy.
Bill accepted a position with Durnell's where he began working in assembly, advancing to service manager. He was employed at Durnell's until their closing. He then worked with or for various construction companies doing masonry work. Bill then became a self employed contractor.
Bill was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Emmetsburg and V.F.W. Post #2295.
He passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Joynt; and a sister-in-law, Janice Joynt.
He is survived by his children, Jarrod Joynt (Tristan), Rachel Bleuer, and Jeremy Joynt all of Emmetsburg; two grandchildren, Bric Joynt and Aleya Bleuer; mother of his children, Cinda Joynt of Emmetsburg; brothers, Gerald Joynt of Clear Lake, Clem Joynt of Emmetsburg and his twin brother, Bob Joynt and (Jackie) of Rake, IA; his sister, Mary Johnson (Bob) of Shafer, MN; special friend, Sue Sampson of Ruthven.
