Emmetsburg's E-Hawks will make a return to the Iowa High School Dual Team Wrestling Tournament next Wednesday after claiming the Class 1A Regional Dual title on their home mat Tuesday night. Coach Jared Pickett's E-Hawks defeated Central Lyon/George-Little Rock by a 56-22 margin in the first dual and then earned the state tournament berth with a 59-21 victory over Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union.
For the E-Hawks, who are tied for sixth in the final Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Class 1A poll, the return to the state dual will begin on Feb. 13 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The E-Hawks, who are 19-4 in duals on the year, will meet Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, with a 23-1 dual record, in a quarterfinal match at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
