To the Editor:
The Palo Alto County Health System Auxiliary sponsored three fundraisers this past fall. The book sale, ever popular jewelry sale and bake sale were extremely successful due to the terrific support received from the residents of Palo Alto County and surrounding area. Each year the Auxiliary also sponsors a Valentine's Day candy sale. Members donate homemade chocolates, caramels and other delicious candy to be sold in the hospital lobby. This year the date is Wednesday, Feb. 13, beginning at 9 a.m.
The proceeds form these fund raisers generate revenue that allows for the purchase of equipment and services for the hospital and clinics, thus benefiting all residents. Last year the auxiliary donated over $12,000 to aid in the purchase of a laser light attachment for the C-Arm x-ray machine and a Lab Analyzer. Each year the Auxiliary purchases a new wheelchair for PACHS. In the past they have also purchased room furnishings and support many community and hospital projects such as the Stork's Closet and Relay for Life.
These purchases and protects would not have been possible without the generosity of people in our community. The support shown this organization is overwhelming. The 2013 auxiliary membership drive is in progress and everyone is invited to join and become a supporting member. Your support is an organization that had its origin over 50 years ago, insures that it will continue to benefit residents of the county for many years to come.
