LAURENS - The Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Titans started the second half of their season Thursday night with a narrow, 64-62 loss to the Laurens-Marathon Chargers at Laurens.
The Titans battled the Chargers through the entire 32 minutes of the contest. even when trailing by as many as 19 points in the second half but fighting their way back into the contest to fall by just two points.
For GT/RA, Austin Dyer led the offense with 24 points, while Connor Sturgill tallied 18 points. Marcus Girres, Mason McGrauth and Trevor Hagedorn all added six points each and Lane Reiman chipped in two points.
"The boys played pretty well in the first half," noted Titan Head Coach Randy Hough. "I was very happy the way we came back by getting down by 19 points in the second half. I?though the boys played with a lot of intensity and enthusiasm from about he middle of the third quarter throughout the rest of the game. We had som great play from off of our bench."
