WEST?BEND - The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard continued their post season campaign Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over North Iowa in Class 1A Tournament play. Game scores were 24-26, 25-13, 25-11 and 25-17.
Wolverines struggled at times and North Iowa was a scrappy team making WBM earn most of their points.
For the Lady Wolverines, Kayla Banwart dig out 16 shots and completed 21 of 21 serves with three aces on the night, while teammate Courtney Bargman added 11 of 12 hits with one kill, along with digging out seven shots and handing out 34 assists to her teammates. Bargman also added three solo blocks and four assisted blocks and made 10 of 11 serves with one ace.
Emily Bormann would come away with 10 of 13 hits and three kills and blocked three shots at the net.
Heather Fehr would 29 of 35 hits with nine kills and made one assist, while assisting on two blocks. Fehr also added 10 of 10 serves with one ace on the night.
McKenzie Grimm would complete 25 of 39 hits with six kills, dug out eight shots and handed out a pair of assists while assisting on two blocks and stopping five shots at the net. Grimm would also connect on 19 of 21 serves with two aces.
Sam Hartman made eight of 12 hits with five kills and added two assists. Hartman assisted on a pair of blocks as well in the match.
Ashley Schmidt would make 22 o28 hits with 11 kills and dug out five shots with one assist. Schmidt also completed 18 of 19 serves with an ace to her credit and rounding out the Lady Wolverines efforts was Jennalyn Thul with seven digs and 11 of 13 serves.
West Bend-Mallard will take on Laurens-Marathon this Friday evening.
