SPENCER - The Algona Area Swim Team split a double duel in Spencer Monday night, falling to the Tigers by a 72-22 score but defeating Storm Lake, 52-42.
"It was a good night for the girls as they came out ready to go," Noted Head Coach Jim Fisher. "Some of the times were not faster but the girls competed in every race."
Hannah Priest was the overall winner in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:15.25, a new team record and also set a new record in the 50 free at 26.57 seconds and a second place finish to Spencer and first against Storm Lake.
Maddie Stubbs was second in the 100 fly and 200 IM and the 200 Medley.
Against Storm Lake, Priest was first in the 50 free, with Stubbs winning the 100 fly and Nicole Keene winning the 500 free. The 400 free relay of Leah Hamilton, Emma Plathe, Erica Carlson and Kenne won with a season's best 4:27.90
Second places went to Plathe in the 50 free, the 200 medley team of Alyssa Williams, Stubbs, Priest, and Carlson, along with Kenne in the 200 free, Stubbs in the 200 IM, Hamilton in the 100 free and Alyssa Williams in the 100 back. The 200 free relay team of carlson, Mackenzie Wilson, Stubbs and Priest took first and a season's best time of 1:56.54.
Third place finishes went to the 200 medley relay- Casey Harms, Abby Strohman, Wilson and Plathe; Hamilton in the 200 free, Conner Yi in the 100 fly; Kendra Roethler in the 100 free and Micheala Christian in the 500 free. Erica Carlson was third in the 100 back, as was Strohman in the 100 back, and the 200 free relay team of Roethler, Yi, Plathe and Jordan Allen and the 400 free relay team of Roethler, Wilson, Harms and Allen.
