Mark Your Calendars

October 11, 2012
Kristy Tonderum , Emmetsburg News

The Palo Alto County Pink Out Day will take place on October 23. All businesses and individuals are encouraged to participate in the event by wearing pink and showing your support for all who have or have had cancer.

Several businesses have already pledged to show their support such as Fareway, Casey's General Store and Bad Manners. Bad Manners is offering a free drink to anyone who comes in that day wearing pink. The bartenders have also agreed to donate their tips for the day and Bad Manners will match the amount made.

Photos documenting your support can be sent to relayfor lifepaloalto@hotmail.com. Photos will be added to the Palo Alto County Relay for Life Facebook page and may even make the newspaper. Please let a committee member know if you'd like your businesses photo taken so arrangements can be made.

Please remember to you can end your Pink Out Day the Pizza Ranch way. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the Palo Alto County Relay for Life Committee members will be at Pizza Ranch for a Tip Night. All tips from the night will be donated to Relay for Life. If you wear pink to the event you will receive a special gift. Pizza Ranch has generously pledged to donate 20% of all sales between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to Relay for Life. This deal includes all delivery, carryout and dine-in orders.

The committee will also be selling Take & Bake Pizza Ranch pizzas during the month of October. The medium pizzas will be $7 for a single topping and $8 for all meat. $2 from every pizza will be donated to Relay. Please contact a committee member if you would like to make an order. You can also order during the Tip Night.

There are a few other events coming up to add to your calendars.
