It's always nice to hear something positive from guests to our community. Steve and Cherry Larson, from the Mitchell, SD, area, were in Emmetsburg over Labor Day weekend. They were kind enough to post an online "thank you" to Community Developer Steve Heldt.
When we contacted Cherry, she was so pleased that we wanted to use her comments in the newspaper. Like we told Cherry, we are so pleased that they enjoyed their weekend in Emmetsburg. It's so nice to hear kind things about our town and its residents.
Here is what Cherry had to say:
"Labor Day weekend was made special to Steve and I when passing through Emmetsburg.
"First, we stopped at a gas station to get directions to a hotel. Two women offered their assistance and directed us to the Americas Best Value Inn 'Suburban Motel.' Upon entrance into the motel, I could tell the manager was from India by the smell of spices so familar to me. We visited with Manny and Debbie Patel for sometime and they showered us with Indian snacks (what a blessing to eat). The next morning, Debbie made me a special spiced drink from India for breakfast. Debbie showed me pictures of her son, who they are so proud of, now in college. They made us feel like we were home. Manny and Debbie were so good to us. God continue to Bless You!
"On Sunday morning, we attending the First United Methodist Church. If you have not heard a powerful, bold, spirit-filled pastor, Rev. Louie Gallo is truly anointed by God. I wish ALL could just spend one hour listening to him.
"To the lady that sat behind us in church, please continue to make people feel they belong. To the couple outside the church, your visit was so nice.
"We just wanted to tell Emmetsburg, from entrance to departure from your city, we were impressed with the feeling of warmth, loving and caring people."
