The Palo Alto County Veterans’ Memorial got a new look Monday when Dave Hatch and his son Brian of Emmetsburg Collision painted the four statues of armed service members. Painting of the statues had been planned for some time but conditions had not allowed the work to be done until these last few days. The statues are now bronze colored and clear coated to help protect the finish. The painting is part of the ongoing work on the memorial, which is located on South Broadway in Emmetsburg. —Dan Voigt photo
