Willis V. White 1928-2012

MALLARD -- Funeral service for Willis White of Mallard was held Thursday, May 31, at the United Methodist Church in Mallard. The Rev. Evelyn Lewiston officiated.

Burial was in Rush Lake Cemetery, Mallard. The Harris Funeral Home in Mallard wasin charge of arrangements.

Willis Vernon White, the son of Eddie and Lucille (Swanson) White was born October 19, 1928 just west of Mallard, on the same "century farm" where he passed away. He died Saturday, May 26, 2012.

Willis was raised and educated in Mallard where he graduated from Mallard High School in 1946. After graduating, he helped his parents with their farming.

On Oct. 4, 1952, he was united in marriage with Dorla Kraft and the couple took over the grain and livestock farming operation. Vernon enjoyed visiting the Mallard Agri-Center every morning and spending time with George Zech going to tractor pulls and the Spencer fair.

Survivors include his wife Dorla, Mallard; son Jeff (Nan) White of Dallas, TX and grandchildren, Joe Cotten and his wife Tara, Walker Vernon White and Logan Nugent White.

Vernon was long time member of the United Methodist Church of Mallard. His favorite past times were riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and his many trips to the west.
