David Vaudt, Auditor of State, will be the guest speaker for the Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation on Friday, June 29, at the Wild Rose Casino & Resort at 1 p.m. in Emmetsburg.
Maureen Elbert, Executive Director of K/PACEDC stated, "Mr. Vaudt will speak on the state budget and internal fiscal policies and procedures. His expertise and knowledge is beneficial to many different entities and we are opening this meeting up to the public to allow others to attend."

David Vaudt began his third term as Auditor of State on January 3, 2011.
Vaudt graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1976, and joined the Des Moines office of KPMG LLP. He was elected to the partnership in 1988, and retired to pursue public office in 2001.
In June of 2011, Vaudt assumed a one-year term as president of the National State Auditors Association. He previously served as Chair of the Iowa Accountancy Examining Board and as Chair of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Vaudt has also served on the boards of numerous nonprofit service organizations.
In September 2004, David Vaudt was named to Accounting Today's "2004 List of 100 Most Influential People in Accounting." In 2009, he received the "Iowans for Tax Relief Watchdog Award."
