ALGONA - Emmetsburg's E-Hawks earned a second place finish at Tuesday's Hackbarth Relays in Algona, earning a trio of first place finishes during their outing.
Cody Henderson would win the 110 hurdles with a time of :14.91 Tuesday evening, while the 4x200 relay squad captured first place honors with a time of 1:33.89 and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay claimed first with a 1:01.02 effort.
Second place finishes were won by Andrew Garrelts in the shot put with a heave of 47'8", while Chad Loomis took second in the 440 hurdles with a :59.84 and Andrew Wellik took second in the 200 meter dash with his :22.94 clocking. Also finishing second was the E-Hawks' 4x100 relay, as they turned in a :44.83 clocking.

Brady Berkland would claim a pair of third place finishes on Tuesday, starting with a third in the 100 meter dash with an :11.27 time and third in the 200 meter dash with a :23.32 effort.
Emmetsburg's 4x100 relay would finish third on the day with a time of :55.51, while Brady Christensen took fourth place in the 100 meter dash with an :11.31 time and Andrew Garrelts earned fourth place in the discus with a throw of 119'7".
The 4x400 relay would finish seventh with a time of 4:10.06 and the Medley Relay also finished seventh with a time of 4:31.29.
Jacob Hutchinson would earn and eighth place finish in the discus with his throw of 106'1" and Austin Lietz took eighth place in the 1600 meter run with a 5:23.10 clocking.
Wesley Brennan earned a tenth place finish in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:#0.97 and Arik Kerr finished tenth in the shot put with a throw of 39'2.5".
Rounding out the finishes for the E-Hawk varsity were Austin Lietz with a 2:24.19 time in the 800 meters for 12th place and Joel Hoyman with a 2:30.46 in the 800 for 14th place.
In the Junior Varsity competition, Emmetsburg got a first place finish from Brandon Elbert in the 110 hurdles with a time of :16.62 and a pair of second place finishes from the 4x100 relay with a time of :49.13 and the 4x200 relay with a 1:40.37 clocking.
Patrick Brennan took ninth in the shot put with a heave of 35'2" and Nick Jackson placed tenth with a 33'1.5" throw. In the discus, Nick Jackson would place 13th with a throw of 70'9" and Patrick Brennan finished in 14th place with a throw of 66'2".
The E-Hawk boys will compete tonight (Thursday) in the Lakes Conference Track Meet, which starts at 5 p.m. at Storm Lake.
