Honors For Boy Scout Troop 46

BOY SCOUT TROOP 46 earned a pair of honors recently. Troop 46 is based in Emmetsburg and is part of the Prairie Gold District of the Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council. Troop 46 was presented the Boy Scout Recruitment Award for recruiting the highest number of new Boy Scouts in the Prairie Gold District.

An additional honor was bestowed on Troop 46 when Scoutmaster Mike Frederick (pictured at right) was named the 2011 Scoutmaster of the Year for Prairie Gold District. Frederick has served as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 46 for a number of years.

The month of February is Scout Month. The Boy Scouts of America was founded on February 6, 1910. In 2012, the Scouts celebrate 102 years of scouting.
