WEST?BEND - The West Bend-Mallard/Gilmore City-Bradgate basketball teams swept a pair of games from Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne on Friday night.
The Lady Wolverines were victorious over CWL by a 37-27 tally, while the Wolverines earned a 51-21 victory in the contest.
Coach Eugene Ruppert's Lady Wolverines took an 11-4 lead after the first quarter and extended their lead to 17-10 at the half.
WBM/GCB would lead 25-22 in the third quarter before taking the 37-27 win.
For the Lady Wolverines, Sarah Berte, Jessica Abrahamson and Ashley Schmidt all scored eight points, while Kayla Banwart and Kenzie Grimm both tallied four points, Kaylee Lempke chipped in three points and Haley Banwart added two points.
The Wolverine boys would allow the Panthers just four points in the opening quarter on their way to posting a 15-4 lead and expanded the lead to a 31-12 margin at halftime. WBM/GCB would extending their lead to 46-17 after three quarters before taking the 51-21 win.
West Bend-Mallard/Gil-more City-Bradgate's Jesse Zinnel had a game-high 22 points in the victory, while Jordan Buhs added nine points. Jason Zinnel scored eight points, while Mitch Bonnstetter added five points. Brady Jensen would tally three points, while Kolten Goodchild and Shawn Nafe each added two points to the coffers.
