GRAETTINGER - It was a sweep for the Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril on the basketball court Friday with a pair of wins over Corwith-Wesley-LuVerne. The Raider girls earned a 48-36 win over the Panthers while the Raider boys manhandled CWL in a 62-29 game that was shortened by the 35-point score differential rule in the second half.

The Raider girls would take an early lead and never looked back, leading 10-6 after the opening quarter and 20-17 at the intermission. In the third quarter, RA/GT opened up a nine-point lead to start the final quarter with a 36-27 advantage and then went on to earn the 48-36 final tally.

Aleysha Sikora led the Raiders with 20 points, while Tiff Harris added 12 tallies. Cassy Hampson drained a three and tallied five points, while Mariah Girres and Brooke Hoffman both chipped in four points and Morgan McGrauth added two points.

Coach Randy Hough's Raiders had little trouble in disposing of the Panthers in the nightcap, as the Raider defense pitched a shutout in the first quarter while taking a 25-0 lead to start the second frame. CWL would finally erase the goose-egg on their half of the scoreboard with just under 5:00 to go in the half as the Raiders would slide out to a 40-9 advantage at the half-time break.

In the second half, RA/GT would enjoy the continuous clock from the 35-point mercy rule to speed up the game as they led 60-21 at the end of the third frame on their way to the 62-29 final.

Colin Leiting led the effort with 14 points while Dylan Smith added 12 points and Damon Morris scored 10. Austin Dyer added nine points, with Carter Williamson chipping in eight tallies.

Mitch Girres scored four points, with Garrett Parker and Dylan Fisher both scoring two points and Trevor Hagedorn adding a free throw for one point.
