RUTHVEN -- Funeral service for Rebecca L. Halder of Ruthven was held Saturday, Aug. 6, at the United Methodist Church in Ruthven. The Rev. Roger Maize officiated.
Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ruthven. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven was in charge of arrangements.
Rebecca Louise Halder, daughter of Leo Norman and Maxine (Michael) Hansen, was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Emmetsburg. She attended school at South Clay, graduating in 1978. Following high school, Becky attended the University of South Dakota and Iowa Central Community College.
On Oct. 26, 1985, Becky was united in marriage to Donald Halder. Becky has been employed as a Dental Hygienist for Fox, Boyd, Sailer and Shriver Dental Office in Spencer for the past 27 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven where she was active with the youth group and directing the puppet ministry. She was active in the music parents organization at the Ruthven -Ayrshire Community School.
Becky passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, at the age of 51.
Becky was preceded in death by her father, Leo Hansen; her grandparents; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Fabian Halder.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Ruthven; her children, Trevor Halder and Liana Halder of Ruthven; her mother, Maxine Hansen and Gilson Riecke of Ruthven; a brother, Dennis Hansen of Ruthven; a sister, Cindy Essick (Russ) of Spencer; nieces and nephews.
