Mary Jean Bolie 1925-2011

CHEROKEE -- Mary Jean Bolie, 86, of Cleghorn, and formerly of Ruthven, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Cherokee Villa Nursing and Rehab Center.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Humboldt. There will be no visitation.

Mary Jean was born on Feb. 3, 1925 to Milford D. and Florence (Blumker) Hayden at Humboldt. She attended and graduated from Ruthven High School. She received a B.A. Degree and a Master's Degree from Buena Vista College in Special Education. She was united in marriage to Weldon Bolie in 1953 at Graettinger. She taught special education for several years until retiring due to health reasons. She was a member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.

Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Weldon in 2003, brother and sister-in-law Dr. M. D. and Frances Hayden and a sister Joyce Hayden.

She is survived by three nieces and one nephew: Connie Cundy and her husband George of Minneapolis, MN; Dr. Patricia Harrison of Cherokee; Linda Burkhart and her husband Terry of Cherokee; Michael Hayden and his wife Linn of Ankeny; nine great nieces and nephews.
