Funeral service for Martha Hildebrand of Emmetsburg will be held Friday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Clem Currans will officiate.
Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Emmetsburg.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Parish Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home.
Martha Laura Hildebrand, daughter of George Griffin and Elsie (Dale) Frisbie, was born Dec. 13, 1911, in Fenton. She received her education in Fenton.
Martha was united in marriage to Elmer D. Hildebrand on Dec. 25, 1929.
Martha did domestic work for families in the area and wallpapered many homes. She catered receptions, making and decorating countless cakes. She was also employed at The Reminder for over 20 years and at the West Bend Journal. Martha was very active in the Senior Center.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Martha was a talented artist, painting beautiful pictures.
Martha passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Emmetsburg Care Center at the age of 99.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Donna and her husband, Jack; son-in-law, Harold Iverson; sisters, Tilly and Viola; and brothers, Phillip and George, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Dwain Hildebrand (Connie) of Emmetsburg, and Twila Iverson of Clinton; 12 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren; her brother, Clarence "Bud" Frisbie of Emmetsburg; and a sister, Elna Hylland of Lake Mills.
