To the Editor:
The 2011 St. Patrick's 50th Anniversary celebration was a marvelous weekend. Thank you to the community for attending the many events. A celebration is always more fun when one can share it with family and friends.
Without the cooperation of the entire community, the celebration could not be successful. Until one gets involved, one does not realize the many details that must be completed. We are very thankful for the many leprechauns that put up the pennants and the flags, paint the green stripes on the street, close the street for the parade, work at the fish fry and pancake breakfast, prepare an entry for the parade, and organize each and every event. The list could go on and on. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to each of you that have volunteered or sponsored an event during the celebration.
The St. Patrick's Association mission statement is: To establish a town identity and promote Irish culture and preserve a rich heritage for future generations. Comments are welcomed by the board to make 2012 St. Patrick's celebration bigger and better.
