What’s In Progress?

October 26, 2010
by Lori Hall

Our biggest issue of the year, Progress 2010, hit the street this morning. Our readers can find this year's version tucked inside today's Reporter and Reminder newspapers. The Progress issue will also be available online on the newspaper's Web site at www.emmetsburgnews.com.

The staff of the Reporter-Democrat has spent weeks preparing this special annual edition for our readers. Everyone had a hand in making the final product an achievement in which we all can be proud. The editorial staff has researched the stories, performing numerous interviews, taking photos, and writing interesting articles for our readers' enjoyment. The advertising staff has been busy selling the advertising that makes Progress 2010 possible, and our crew in composition spent countless hours designing and creating captivating ads and putting the finishing touches on our work.

This 42-page, four-section spectacular features local stories, colorful photos, and informative advertising reviewing the highlights of the past year. Progress 2010 is the largest and most complete collection of Palo Alto County's success stories.

It's been a busy year! There's a lot going on in Palo Alto County. Sometimes, you don't realize just how many good things have happened until you sit down and try to list them.

Several new businesses have joined the ranks of the county's business community, like Young's Custom Computers, Mobile Massage, and Go Gutters, among others. Some area businesses and organizations are celebrating milestones like Palo Alto County Conservation (50 years), MaxYield Cooperative (95 years), and Wentzel's True Value Hardware (45 years).

Did you know that there's a mini art gallery tucked inside Mainstreet Memories Mall? Or that the Graettinger-Terril School District has provided each student in grades 5-12 with a laptop computer this year? Were you aware that a robot just may be filling your prescription at Mansmith Pharmacy?

All these stories and more can be found inside today's special edition. We hope you enjoy reading Progress 2010!
