Bell’s name was drawn at the Cornerstone Pub as the winner of the “Super Sunday Party Package” promotion Monday afternoon.
“Geez, guys, I never expected this,” Bell exclaimed when she stopped at the offices of The Reporter and The Democrat Tuesday afternoon to claim her prizes. “This is so great. Thank you so much.”
The Super Sunday Party Package included chips, snacks, a meat and cheese tray, party ware, napkins, soft drinks and gift certificates from the 24 sponsoring businesses.
For Brenda, the big game will be sort of anti-climatic, since her beloved Chicago Bears aren’t playing this year. “It really isn’t the big game,” Bell said, “Because my Bears aren’t in it, but I’ll go for the Saints, because they’re the underdogs.”
OK, if Brenda will be cheering for the Saints, what about her husband Todd?
“Oh, he’ll like the Saints, too. I said so,” Brenda laughed.
The Super Sunday Party Promotion is sponsored annually by several local businesses, including Northland Auto and Marine, Poet Biorefining, The Office, Creative Stitches, Johnson Realty, Kirby’s Café, Mainstreet Memories Mall and K. Jackson and Company. Also sponsoring the annual promotion are the Cornerstone Pub, Laurens State Bank, Sum Hing Chinese Restaurant, Dyno’s, The Reporter and The Democrat, Celtics Beverage Company, Wentzel’s True Value and Just Ask Rental and the Pizza Ranch.
Additional Super Sunday Party sponsors include Mansmith Pharmacy, Fareway Stores, Hardware Hank, Dairy Queen, Food Pride, Hughes Health Mart Pharmacy and Gallagher’s.
