Emmetsburg’s E’Hawk Boys JV squad picked up a 54-42 win over Storm Lake in a contest played Jan. 5.

Emmetsburg led 19-14 after one quarter and 37-23 at the half. It was 43-36 at the end of three quarters before the E’Hawks took the 52-42 final victory.

Marcus Akridge led the E’Hawks with 16 points, while Arthur Heldt added nine points and had five assists. Steven Heddinger added eight points while Jake Jackson scored seven points with four helpers. Bobby Gappa had six points and four helpers as well. Austin Oppenheimer and Zach Overburg both scored three points and Ryan Kliegl added two points and dished out five helpers for Coach Phil Geelan’s club.

The E’Hawks out-rebounded Storm Lake 17-12 and committed just six turnovers to the 11 Tornado miscues.

The win gave the young E’Hawks a 4-1 mark.
