West Bend-Mallard’s Wolverines came up short in a 59-39 loss to Ventura on Friday night. The Wolverines trailed 10-17 after one quarter, and trailed 26-37 at the intermission. Ventura extended their lead to a 52-37 margin after three quarter and coasted to the 59-39 final as both teams used their reserves in the final frame.

Jake Goodchild led the Wolverines with 12 points, while Christopher Schmidt added 10. Taylor Foley had six points, while Kurt Banwart added four points and Jake Umstead had three points, with Greg Mader and Mitch Bonnstetter both adding two points.

Defensively, Chris Schmidt pulled down nine rebounds, while Jake goodchild, Mitch Bonnstetter and Taylor Foley all collected five boards. Greg Mader grabbed two rebounds and Kurt Banwart picked up one carom.

Greg Mader dished out four assists, while Chris Schmidt added three helpers and Taylor Foley dished out one.

Mitch Bonnstetter and Chris Schmidt both made one steal each to round out the defensive effort .
