LAKE?PARK - Ruthven-Ayrshire’s Raider girls found themselves on the wrong side of a 68-30 decision in girls basketball action Friday night, Dec. 4.

The Raiders came up with nine points in the opening quarter of play, but Harris-Lake Park brought their defense to bear in the second quarter and held Ruthven-Ayrshire to just three points in the second quarter.

Despited continued defensive pressure by the Wolves, Ruthven-Ayrshire added seven points to their total in the third quarter and ended the contest with 11 points in the final frame for the 68-30 final score.

Sadie Forey would provide most of the Raiders’ offense in the effort as she knocked down 21 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds for the double-double and dished out one assist.

Shyanne Zaragoza would follow with seven points for the Raiders and Alesha Sikora rounded out the scoring with two points.

On defense, Caitlyn Reed pulled down three rebounds, while Shyanne Zaragoza and Alesha Sikora both collected two boards and Keely Williamson had one board. Keely Williamson made three steals and Shyanne Zaragoza dished out two assists.

After being weathered out Tuesday for their games with Storm Lake St. Mary’s, the Raiders will resume action, weather permitting, Friday night, Dec. 11, when they travel to Everly to take on Clay Central-Everly. On Saturday night, Dec. 12, the Raider girls and boys journey to Aurelia to take on the Bulldogs.
