West Palo Alto Community Fund Drive Celebrates 50 Years

The fiftieth West Palo Alto Community Fund Drive began this week and will continue through Sunday, Nov. 15. This annual fund drive gives the community the opportunity to help one or more of the 17 local, state and national health and welfare programs.
“In 2008, over $5500 was raised and we hope to have another successful campaign as this is our 50 year anniversary,” said Linda Heiman, President.
Monies raised has gone to Heart, Cancer, ?Alzheimers, Parkinson, Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis and Arthritis Association for research, plus to the Ayrshire Dinner Date, Ruthven Social Center and Ruthven Community Care Center. Other organizations are CAASA, Seasons Center, the Salvation Army, Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Palo Alto County Hospital Auxiliary and Horizons Unlimited of Palo Alto County.
The officers of West Palo Alto are Linda Heiman, President; Winona Loomis, Secretary; and Pat Henningsen, Treasurer.
“Community members are asked to give generously,” said Heiman.
