WEST?BEND - The Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard advanced to the second round of Class 1A Regional Volleyball tournament play with a 3-0 win over Laurens-Marathon in the opening round of tournament play last Wednesday night, Oct. 21.

West Bend-Mallard advances to play Galva-Holstein tonight (Tuesday)?in a 7 p.m. game at Laurens.

In Wednesday’s game, the Lady Wolverines earned game wins by scores of 25-20, 26-24 and 25-17.

For West Bend-Mallard, Carrie Hefty was perfect with 10 of 10 serves and dished out 39 assists on the night. Nicole Gearhart added nine of 12 serves, with 12 digs, and was 18 of 22 for hits, with 10 kills to her credit.

Amanda Frieden went 36 of 39 in hitting with 19 kills and blocked two shots.

Missy Abrahamson would go seven of eight at the serving line with one ace, and added 15 of 22 hits with eight kills.

Erica Fehr came away with 10 of 12 serves and tallied two aces, while digging out 21 shots and Jessica Fehr completed 18 of 21 serves and tallied two aces. Fehr also dug out eight shots, and went 16 of 19 at the net with eight kills.
