Honor Flight Fundraiser Nov. 14

An Honor Flight fundraiser will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at Wild Rose Casino & Resort in Emmetsburg. The event will raise funds to assist veterans who wish to participate in the Iowa Honor Flight program.
The event includes a banquet and live auction. The ballroom doors open at 6 p.m. at the Wild Rose for social time prior to the banquet. A live auction will follow the banquet, with Eberle Auction Service donating their services.
Items are being sought for the live auction. New items may be given to Ron Hersom or Larry Huberty. Items can also be taken to the VFW post home.
Gerald Firkins, John Ganon and Francis Farlow, representing VFW Post #2295, participated in the Iowa Honor Flight program in October. They have been invited to share their experiences at the Honor Flight fundraiser.
Banquet tickets are available at $15 per person. Wild Rose Casino & Resort will donate half of the banquet proceeds back to the fundraiser. The Wild Rose will also make a $500 cash donation and donate auction items.
Comrades interested in participating in the Iowa Honor Flight program and viewing the war memorials in Washington, D.C., should contact VFW Commander Ron Hersom in Emmetsburg for an application form. Contact Hersom at 712-852-2066.
