The 2008 edition of the Iowa Lakes Community College Palo Alto County Scholarship Golf Outing ended up raising nearly $10,000 for scholarships following play on Friday. The event, held at the Wild Rose Golf Course and Club in Emmetsburg, attracted 54 golfers for a meal, golf and prizes. At the same time, proceeds raised will go to provide scholarship assistance to Palo Alto County residents attending Iowa Lakes.

Several prizes were awarded at the end of the tourney. The Longest Drive awards went to Jason McCloud and Ruth Hand, while the Shortest Drives went to Clayton Freeman and Jane Campbell.

The Longest Putt awards went to John Spies and Linda Helmers, while the Closest to a hole-in-one award went to Kort Freeman and Nicole Heng.

T.J. Thayer of Emmetsburg won the grand prize of a $1,000 gasoline card from Dyno’s Food Stops.
