Woodruff Earns All-District Nod

With the Emmetsburg Lady E’Hawks making an appearance in the 2008 State Softball Tournament, post season honors were handed out to several members of the team. For pitcher Maddison Woodruff, one honor has special significance.
Woodruff, the sophomore pitcher for the Lady E’Hawks, was named as a member of the Northwest Iowa All District Softball Team on the basis of her play during the season.
Woodruff was named to the Class 2A All District team along with area players Jenni Stumpf and Desiree Schnell of Pocahontas Area and Kristen Twait of Manson Northwest Webster.
Also earning All District honors in Class 1A were two players from West Bend-Mallard’s Lady Wolverine squad, Michaela Grimm and Kayla Hartman.
