I find it absolutely ridiculous that the Reporter/Democrat regularly runs articles warning its readers about scams in our community, yet it promotes one of the oldest and most profitable types of scams around on the front page. I'm talking of course about "Then feed just one". "Then feed just one" is a scam that exploits people's charitable nature, which most successful scams do. The company produces cheap junk, and then gets you the "volunteer" to buy it under the premise that it will then be used to feed the hungry. A noble cause, but only a ruse. The goal isn't to feed the hungry, it's to feed the bank accountant of some unscrupulous company owners. Make cheap junk, and get you the "volunteer" to pay for it. What a marvelous scam, and even better if you can get free press to promote it.
